UPF Ambassadors Scold Ahmadinejad on Holocaust

From Colorado Confidential, in 2006:

…Sam Zakhem, an immigrant from Lebanon born in 1937, began his political career in 1974 when he was elected to the state House.  In 1977, he served as the chair of the Finance Committee.  He later served in the state Senate. In 1996, Sam Zakhem was one of five Republicans who ran in the primary for the 6th Congressional District after the retirement of Republican Dan Schaefer…

After his election defeat, Sam Zakhem was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to serve as Ambassador to Bahrain, a position he held until 1989.

In 1997, Sam Zakhem was nominated by beer baron Pete Coors to be chairman of the Colorado Republicans, a bid he eventually lost.

Zakhem is still an ambassador, though: with the UPF. In a recent column he tells us that:

Iran…must stop the inflammatory rhetoric and the unnecessary threats against Israel. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad does not help the Palestinians’ cause by denying the Holocaust.

The Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular showed remorse for the Jews when the Nazis were liquidating them. Moreover, Palestine was a refuge for those Jews. (This fact was shared with Ahmadinejad by myself and three of my colleagues, all members of the Universal Peace Federation, when we met with the President last September 19, in New York).

The founder of the Universal Peace Federation, meanwhile, has his own views on the Holocaust, which he explained in 2003:

To recreate Israel, the church and the state must become one as Cain and Abel. Instead they became one with Rome and captured and killed Jesus. They united with Rome…Jewish people, you have to repent. Jesus was the King of Israel. Through the principle of indemnity Hitler killed 6 million Jews. That is why. God could not prevent Satan from doing that because Israel killed the True Parents. Even now, you have to determine that you will repent and follow and become one with Christianity through Rev. Moon.
